Residents in southwestern Minnesota are assessing damages after a number of areas reported hail as large as golf balls.
The large hail was reported Sunday evening in the Redwood County area, including the communities of Lamberton, Marshall, Olivia, Wabasso and Wanda.
Officials in Alexandria reported hail between the size of a golf ball and a baseball. Authorities say there are reports of broken house windows, car damage and downed trees.
The hailstorm didn't bring much water, with only a fraction of an inch of rainfall recorded. Farmers say they'd be grateful for rain, as crops are beginning to show signs of stress after prolonged dryness.
