A tourist shop in Duluth will stop selling T-shirts with messages offensive to American Indians after getting complaints.
The I Love Duluth Shop in Canal Park had T-shirts printed with messages that included "My Indian Name is 'Drinks Like Fish"' and "My Indian name is 'Crawling Drunk."'
Duluth resident Donna Blue Bird visited the store after hearing about the shirts from friends. She took the issue to the Duluth Human Rights officer, who visited the store and asked that it stop selling the shirts.
Owner Simon Shaked removed the shirts from store display and sold the rest at a deeply discounted rate. He says he won't carry the shirts any longer and says he meant no offense.
