Authorities are looking for a man who robbed a bank in St. Anthony on Monday morning.
According to officials with the St. Anthony Police and the FBI, the robber entered the TCF Bank at 3899 Silver Lake Road NE in St. Anthony around 10 a.m. Monday.
Officials said he was carrying a black handgun when he ordered bank employees and customers to the floor. He then leapt over the counter, where he ordered two tellers to fill a dark duffel bag with cash.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the bank on foot toward a residential area of Macalaster Drive NE. As he was fleeing, a red dye pack activated in the duffle bag, which police later found with the money, officials said.
Police described the robber as a light-skinned black male, about 6 feet tall and with a slender to medium build. He was wearing a dark, bandana-type covering over his face and head, a white dress shirt with dark necktie, khaki pants, and dark gloves.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Minneapolis FBI office at 612-376-3200, the St. Anthony Police Department at 612-782-3350, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
