Public works crews in the city of Plymouth are continuing to pick up debris caused by the weekend's violent storms until 3 p.m. today.
City workers will pick up garbage in the area of 25th Avenue North and Merrimac Lane as well as near 24th Avenue North and Troy Lane.
Over the weekend, hail and funnel clouds were reported in spots, and heavy rain dropped up to six inches in some areas of central Minnesota. At least one tornado was spotted in the western Minneapolis suburbs on Saturday night.
Officials with the city of Plymouth say tree debris should be neatly stacked, cut in pieces no longer than 8 feet and set at the curb.
Crews will only pick up trees, branches and other natural materials. Roofing material, lumber and other structural lumber will not be picked up.
Later this week, city crews will sweep streets in the neighborhoods affected by the storm.
