City business can wait a day.
The Sheboygan Common Council is reluctant to hold its regular Monday night meeting knowing it will be Brett Favre's first game as a Minnesota Viking against the Green Bay Packers, where he spent 16 years as quarterback.
So, the city's budget troubles, the political future of embattled Mayor Bob Ryan and other pressing issues can wait. Instead of zipping through a meaty agenda to finish in time for kickoff, the council will bump its meeting to Tuesday night when it might attract more of an audience.
And in Winona, Minn., the City Council is moving up the time of its regular meeting from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to avoid conflicting with kickoff for the Monday Night Football showdown at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.
