A Red Lake man received a 17 1/2-year sentence with no parole on Tuesday, in connection with a St. Croix tribal drug trafficking investigation.
Andrew Sonnenberg, 26, was among three defendants sentenced by U.S. District Judge James T. Moody on Tuesday for distributing crack cocaine on St. Croix tribal lands in northwestern Wisconsin from 2001 to 2008.
Diana Martin, 44, of Webster, Wis., received a nine-year sentence, and Margrette Cobb, 28, of Cumberland, Wis., received 13 years and 4 months. Martin and Cobb are not eligible for parole.
In sentencing the defendants, Judge Moody said they sold "poison" to members of their community.
Eleven defendants have been sentenced as a result of the investigation.
