Flu clinic scheduled in Mankato for high-risk children

Health care providers will hold a free clinic in Mankato on Saturday to administer the H1N1 flu vaccine to high-risk children.
The clinic will provide the injectable version of the vaccine to high-risk children from ages 6 months to 5 years.
High-risk children include those with asthma or other chronic pulmonary conditions, diabetes or other metabolic disorders, cardiovascular disorders other than high blood pressure, renal disorders, cognitive disorders, neurological or neuromuscular disorders, or immunosuppresion.
The Mayo Health System, the Mankato Clinic and Blue Earth County Public Health are coordinating the effort.
The clinic will be held Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the ISJ Specialty Clinic, 1015 Marsh St., at Entrance 2 on the north side of the medical center.
