Becker County Sheriff's divers recovered the body of a 62-year-old duck hunter from Rat Lake on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities have not yet released the person's name, pending notification of family members.
On Tuesday morning, the White Earth Police Department investigated an abandoned vehicle near Rat Lake. Authorities then searched the shoreline and found a small aluminum duck boat overturned in the water.
Divers found the person in water less than ten feet deep. "It appears that the duck boat overturned, submerging the victim," Sheriff Tim Gordon said in a statement released Tuesday evening.
A family member told authorities that the person, who lived in Minneapolis, had traveled to the Rat Lake area to go duck hunting.
An autopsy will be performed to determine whether the cause of death was drowning or a medical condition.
