A Minnesota company has plans to bring a bio-gas plant to Albert City, and with it could come 40 jobs.
Midwest Biogas president Nick Nelson says the proposed Buena Vista Bio Energy plant would take byproducts from a nearby ethanol plant and an egg producer to make the fuel.
The plant is expected to be complete by 2012, but up to 30 jobs could be available by early 2011, when the first phase of the plant is done.
Nelson says his company expects to break ground in March or April. He says the proposed plant's permits are being examined by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
The plant would also create fertilizer, produce electricity and sell natural gas back to the nearby ethanol plant.
