Gov. Tim Pawlenty will help a state Senate candidate in his own backyard raise money on Monday.
Republican candidate David Carlson's campaign says Pawlenty is a confirmed guest at a private fundraiser in Eagan. The suburban city is home to both candidates, although the governor also has an official residence in St. Paul.
Carlson is seeking the GOP endorsement in Senate District 38. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marines who served three tours in Iraq.
The district is represented by Sen. Jim Carlson, a Democrat serving his first term.
