A prominent civil rights leader speaks at the 20th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Breakfast in Minneapolis on Monday.
The Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery will highlight the legacy of King's dream at the 7 a.m. event at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Lowery received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the country's highest civilian honor, last August, and President Barack Obama tapped him to give the invocation at his inauguration.
The event typically sells out. It will be broadcast live on Twin Cities Public Television. It also will be available for viewing by Minnesota National Guard members in Iraq.
The St. Paul Area Council of Churches will host several simultaneous free breakfasts where guests will watch the event on TV.
