The walleye harvest quotas for Mille Lacs Lake have been raised slightly for 2010.
A committee of state and tribal officials is recommending a safe harvest level for walleye at 544,000 pounds, up 3,000 pounds from 2009.
The walleye allocation for the eight Chippewa bands under an 1837 treaty will be 132,500 pounds for 2010, up 6,000 pounds from 2009.
The tribes did not take their full quota last year, and sport anglers didn't come anywhere close to catching theirs. But the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is predicting better fishing for 2010 on Mille Lacs, traditionally one of the state's top walleye lakes.
The committee recommended no changes from last year in the perch and northern pike quotas.
