The Minneapolis School Board will now start negotiating a contract with its choice for superintendent, after formally voting Tuesday night for Bernadeia Johnson.
Johnson is the current deputy superintendent. She was named last month as the only finalist in the search to replace Bill Green when he retires as superintendent on July First.
Tuesday's vote was 5-to-0, with two board members -- Lydia Lee and Jill Davis - abstaining.
