An exhibit celebrating women artists from Islamic culture is now open at St. Catherine University in St. Paul.
"Breaking the Veils: Women Artists From the Islamic World" opened at the Catherine G. Murphy Gallery last Saturday.
St. Kate's is the latest stop of the exhibit from Jordan's National Gallery of Fine Arts' permanent collection. The exhibit showcases 51 artists from 20 countries. All of the artists are women from the Islamic culture, but their religions include Muslim, Christian, Buddhist and Hindu.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. It's on display through April 1. ---
