Two lawmakers want to help solve Minnesota's financial problems - and maybe raise money for a new Vikings stadium - by authorizing slot machines at racetracks.
Rep. Al Juhnke and Sen. Dan Sparks are proposing racino legislation Tuesday to allow slots and video gambling at Shakopee's Canterbury Park and Running Aces in Columbus.
They're calling it the "Jobs, Family and Economic Development Fund."
Former state Sen. Dick Day says the legislation won't mention the proposed Vikings stadium but would allow funds to be used to build recreational facilities. Day stepped down from the Senate earlier this year to lobby for the racino bill.
