A man trapped in a grain bin on his farm near Waseca died after rescue workers were unable to reach him in time.

The Waseca County sheriff's office said James Eaton, 49, died at the scene.

Deputies say Eaton was trying to dislodge frozen corn inside the bin Thursday morning when the grain collapsed onto him and suffocated him.

The farm is located in Otisco Township, about five miles south of Waseca in south-central Minnesota.
