That hot dog stand near the Minnesota high school football field could be in line for special fee treatment from the state.
A bill zooming through the Minnesota Legislature would ensure that school concession stands don't face extra licensing fees. It would limit the annual fee for those stands to $150.
Restaurants, hotels and other food and beverage establishments pay health inspection fees based on the types of fare they serve. Those charges come on top of the $150 base fee.
The bill walling school stands off from additional fees faced a hearing Wednesday before the House K-12 Education Finance Division.
A companion measure awaits a vote by the full Senate.
