A 12-year-old Sartell Middle School student is heading to the 2010 National Geography Bee in Washington, D.C., after winning the state competition Friday.
He's Gopi Ramanathan, a sixth grader. He won the competition at St. Cloud State University by correctly identifying the location of the state of Saxony -- which is in Germany.
Now he'll represent Minnesota at the 22nd Annual National GeoBee on May 25-26. There were more than 100 students that answered questions about world geography.
The final round will be moderated by "Jeopardy" host Alex Trebek.
