Many MPR listeners have remarked about the early spring in Minnesota, perhaps the earliest since 1981. This morning's showers and thunderstorms will certainly boost the greening up of the Minnesota landscape. Many observers report the heaviest dose of daily precipitation so far this year, including MSP with 0.64 inches.
In the central and western plains of Texas, where a cool and wet pattern has prevailed this year, residents are enjoying a somewhat rare and beautiful prolonged wild flower season. Friends in Texas sent this image of wild flowers from the Willow City Loop in the Texas Hill Country. The bluebonnet trails are providing gorgeous scenery this month and many residents are out and about for spring color tours similar to what Minnesotans do in the fall during our peak color season.
