An advisory committee for the Superior National Forest holds its first meeting Friday.
The Superior Resource Advisory Committee meets at 9:45 A.M. at the Superior National Forest Headquarters in Duluth.
The committee was appointed by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. Its mission is to enhance local collaboration with federal land managers on proposed projects for national forest lands in Cook, Lake and St. Louis Counties.
The three counties have each agreed to allocate some of their federal funding totaling approximately $200,000 for Superior National Forest projects over each of the next four years.
