The Census Bureau reports there are more physicians per capita in Rochester - home of the Mayo Clinic - than any other metro area in the country.
The bureau reports there were 1,871 physicians per 100,000 residents in Rochester in 2007. Other areas with high rates were well known colleges towns, including Ann Arbor, Mich. and Iowa City, Iowa.
Physicians per capita is among the 1,600 data items included in the bureau's 2010 edition of the State and Metropolitan Area Data Book, which was released Thursday.
