Donations are being accepted for a Burnsville family involved in a crash that claimed the life of their 11-year-old son.

The Balistreri Family Benefit Fund will help offset expenses related to the crash.

Authorities say a 27-year-old woman crossed the median last Sunday night on Highway 13 in Burnsville and hit the Balistreri's vehicle, killing 11-year-old Joel, and injuring his parents and sister.

The State Patrol says the woman who crossed the median had alcohol in her system and drug paraphernalia in her car. She has not been charged.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Balistreri Family Benefit Fund can do so in person or by mail at Wells Fargo Bank branch at 925 County Road 42 W. in Burnsville.
