Library book returned 35 years later

A reader who borrowed a book from the Winona Public Library has avoided a $1,400 fine.

The library says one book returned during its amnesty week was checked out in the 1970s.

Amnesty week allows borrowers to return overdue books without paying a fine.

KSTP-TV says the library was thrilled to get the book back.
