The mother of one of two American hikers still jailed in Iran says the men have a Nov. 6 trial date and that hikers' families hope for the their release soon afterward.
Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal remain in a Tehran prison more than a month after Bauer's fiancee, Sarah Shourd, was released and returned to the U.S.
Bauer's mother, Cindy Hickey of Pine City, Minn., said Tuesday that their lawyer told the families about the trial date around the time Shourd was released.
Hickey says the families don't know whether Bauer and Fattal will be tried together or separately.
Iran accuses the three of illegally crossing the Iran-Iraq border in July 2009 in order to spy.
The hikers say the crossing was accidental.
