A longtime provider of hot meals to shut-ins could lose federal funding in a shift to frozen food delivery in three Minnesota counties.
Supporters of the Meals on Wheels program say seniors and others will lose the daily, personal contact that its volunteers provide when delivering the hot meals.
Both meal providers say federal Title 3 funding is expected to shift to Presbyterian Homes in Ramsey, Washington and Dakota counties.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press says Presbyterian Homes would deliver frozen meals once a week to homebound clients.
