The Gustavian Weekly announces that in light of recent national incidents involving the bullying of gay students -- and their suicides -- and of Coming Out Week at Gustavus Adolphus, the theater and dance department and the student social justice theater troupe I Am We Are have planned a candlelight vigil for October 28 at 10:00 p.m. at the Shakespeare Pit.
Gustavus faculty and students will read the names of the dead.
In explaining why people should come, Senior Religion Major Megan Myhre, a member of the troupe, uses some strong imagery:
“It is important that people come to show their support for people sitting in their rooms, worrying about where it will happen next and if it will happen to them."
