A young bull moose is wandering far afield in southwestern Minnesota.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and several residents confirm seeing the moose. The moose was reported in the river bottom area in Springfield several days ago, then was seen near Seaforth on Sunday.
The Redwood Falls DNR office says as long as it the moose is continuing to move north and not causing a problem for the public, the agency will just continue to monitor the animal's movement.
DNR Officer Jeff Zajac says moose can suffer from a parasite in their brain and sometime lose their sense of direction. KLGR-AM of Redwood Falls reports it's not known if this moose is ill.
