Helicopter parents who are out of control

I've posted a number of articles about "helicopter parents" -- parents so involved in their children's lives that they almost take them over, leaving their kids potentially unprepared for the challenge of thinking for themselves.

But this bit in the Wall Street Journal article, "It's Not Your Mom's Job Hunt," left me amazed:

But there they were, real-life stories that left me flabbergasted: recruiters and HR managers reporting that Generation Y parents have been calling employers to negotiate salaries and benefits on behalf of their young-adult children. Really. Some are showing up at job fairs, or worse, the actual interview. Some companies have even implemented training on how to handle over-involved moms and dads.

Let me be clear. If a recruiter has to deal with your mom or dad, you’re not getting the job (unless they own the company).
