A coalition of workers and labor activists are marching in Minneapolis as they seek better wages and working conditions at several Minnesota-based retailers.
The workers are employed as cleaners at Target, Supervalu and Lunds and Byerly's stores. Organizers with the Workers Interfaith Network say wages for many cleaning workers have plummeted in recent years while workloads have significantly increased.
Saturday's march starts in Uptown and heads east for a rally at a Target and Cub Foods shopping complex a few miles east. U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison and other local elected officials will address the crowd there.
