Why St. Cloud loses students

No, this isn't a riff on the students-irate-over-budget-cuts-post.

The St. Cloud Times reports on a recent survey by some St. Cloud State University students and city economic development officials on why many students don’t stay in town after graduation -- and what would keep them around:

The survey found that about 50 percent don’t plan to stay in St. Cloud after graduation and 75 percent of those say it’s because of the local job market.

The study found that students feel there is a lack of long-term job opportunities in St. Cloud, a limited public transportation system and not a lot for 20-somethings to do for entertainment.

A couple of student presenters noted: Hey, we've got stuff here. We just need to get the word out.
