MPR's Tim Post reports on a push by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system to lure back to school some of the students who've dropped out -- something a number of colleges across the nation are doing to increase the graduation rate.
Post says about 160,000 former students might be "good candidates" to go back to school.
He quotes MnSCU's Mary Rothchild:
They probably also don't realize how close they are to getting a degree. A good deal of our project is just trying to reach out to people, ask them if they're interested in coming back to school, and then providing them with more intentional services to help realize how close they are to degree completion.
