The Farm Service Agency is reminding Minnesota livestock producers affected by this winter's harsh weather that help may be available.
The FSA's executive director for the state, Linda Hennen, says this is turning out to be a tough winter for many Minnesota ranchers and farmers.
She says producers need to document livestock deaths that directly result from this winter's storms and notify their local FSA office. She says producers should also document any additional costs they incur hauling feed to livestock as a result of the harsh weather.
The FSA runs several programs that help producers recover from livestock deaths above normal mortality rates, as well as with losses of purchased or harvested forage, and with the additional costs of providing or transporting feed.
