A new exhibit has just opened at the Minnesota History Center which exposes the inside story of Munsingwear.
The exhibit traces the history of Munsingwear from its start in Minneapolis in 1886 as the Northwestern Knitting Company.
At first, Munsingwear made long underwear, but later expanded into sexy lingerie.
A new book to go with the exhibit is called "In the Mood for Munsingwear."
MPR's Cathy Wurzer met author Susan Marks at the building where Munsingwear was based for many years. She said the founder, George Munsing, was a true underwear visionary.
The Munsingwear exhibit at the Minnesota History Center will be up through mid-September.
