4th of July weekend, with its community celebrations and parades, might be just the place for Minnesotans and their leaders to discuss our government shutdown.

I've been calling around to small towns in north central Minnesota (the above photo is from the parade in Pequot Lakes in 2010) asking chambers of commerce which politicians are signed up to march in their 4th of July parades.
Answer: Not many.
It's not an election year.
