The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is warning people in the Ely area to take precautions against attracting bears. The warning comes after an unusual series of what the DNR calls bear/human interactions, four of them over the last several weeks. The most recent incident was on Monday morning and it ended with an area homeowner shooting and killing the bear.
Dan Stark, a wildlife management specialist with the DNR, discussed the situation with Minnesota Public Radio's Cathy Wurzer.
