Another Minnesota pro sports team has won a national trophy.
The Minnesota Stars beat the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the first-ever championship of the new North American Soccer League. The championship series was just two games. Last week the Stars won the first match, beating the Strikers 3-1.
But Saturday night in Florida, a soggy soccer field made it difficult for both teams to play. Nobody scored, so the Stars got the trophy.
The team will return home Monday and will celebrate at Brit's Pub in downtown Minneapolis Tuesday night.
Earlier this month the Minnesota Lynx won the WNBA Finals, sweeping the Atlanta Dream in three games.
The Lynx are expected to visit the White House in the summer after team members are done for the year in European leagues.
