Some vacant buildings at the Upper Post of Fort Snelling will be remodeled for homeless veterans.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs said Monday CommonBond Communities of St. Paul and Sand Companies of St. Cloud will partner on a project to rehab 58 housing units in four or five buildings at the Upper Post. They're on the opposite side of Highway 55 from the historic fort in Minneapolis.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press says the project is part of a broader announcement by Veterans Affairs to provide more than 3,000 housing units for veterans at 25 VA campuses nationwide.
