FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- Fond du Lac County authorities say a deputy investigating a traffic obstruction came across a strange sight.

The deputy was following up Saturday on a report of boxes and chairs piled in a roadway in the town of Taycheedah.

A report in The Reporter of Fond du Lac says the deputy found a patio chair in the middle of the road with a dead cat on it. Around the chair were large pieces of cardboard blocking the street.

Authorities were investigating footprints in the snow that led away from the scene.
