MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin led all other states in shedding state government jobs in the second quarter of last year.
U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show state government employment in Wisconsin dropped about 10 percent from April through June, compared to the first quarter. That's about 8,000 jobs according to the latest figures available.
The Journal Sentinel says behind Wisconsin is Louisiana, where state employment decreased by 5.8 percent, then New York down 3.5 percent.
