U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann says she won't be dancing with the stars.
The former GOP presidential candidate from Minnesota issued a statement Wednesday denying that she's been tapped for the upcoming season of the ABC-TV show "Dancing with the Stars."
In the interest of full disclosure, she says, she did win a polka competition in 10th grade at Anoka High School and has a lifelong love of ballroom dancing. But she says the show rumors are false and she's focused on her congressional duties.
Bachmann spokeswoman Becky Rogness says the congresswoman told her she was not invited to be a contestant.
A show representative said the producers don't comment on casting rumors. ABC plans to announce the cast Feb. 28 on "Good Morning America." The season premieres March 19.
