Kerri's pick of the week is Jonah Lehrer's new book on creativity. Mine is Amanda Foreman's Civil War history, A World on Fire (which I do believe I called The World on Fire while on the air. Sorry Ms. Foreman).
My book club and I were maybe a little too ambitious when we chose it; it clocks in at 800-plus pages. It looks at the conflict through the lens of British-American relations -- an interesting and fresh take for hardcore Civil War buffs -- but the book also provides enough of an overview of the conflict for those less versed.
Kerri and I have been gathering book recommendations from the audience via Twitter and email. I'll start mentioning an audience book pick every week on the air. Give us a recommendation and why you like it.
