Minnesota's Republican candidate for U.S. Senate will be out on the campaign trail this weekend. Kurt Bills plans to attend a parade in Zimmerman.
Bills clinched his party's endorsement last week, thanks in part to the support of Texas Congressman Ron Paul. He now faces what many consider to be an uphill battle against DFL Sen. Amy Klobuchar.
So far Bills, who is a state representative and a high school economics teacher, has been spending much of his time raising money. Campaign fundraising reports show Bills had $33,000 in the bank at the close of the last quarter. Klobuchar had more than $5 million.
Bills spoke with Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer about where he stands on fiscal and social issues.
