MINNEAPOLIS -- The police in Minneapolis say a 16-year-old has been arrested in the shooting of another teenager who was killed Friday.
Police Sgt. Bill Palmer says officers responding to a 911 call reporting a shooting on the city's south side on Friday found a teenager with a gunshot wound inside the entryway to an apartment building. The young man later died at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
Palmer said information led officers to arrest another teenager at 7:30 p.m. Friday not far from the scene of shooting.
"At this point," Palmer said, "we do believe that there was an altercation involving a number of individuals that took place in the alley behind the apartment building where the victim was found that led up to the shooting."
Palmer says police investigators are presenting the case to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, which will decide on charges.
