MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A major exhibit of Rembrandt paintings opens next weekend at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
"Rembrandt in America" features some 30 bona fide works by the Dutch master. It's the largest number of authentic paintings by Rembrandt ever assembled in the U.S.
The exhibit features rarely seen work from two dozen museums and a few private collections. Rembrandt's career and influence is traced in 50 paintings.
All of the paintings were purchased as authentic Rembrandts for American collections, but some have since been attributed to other artists while others are still debated.
"Rembrandt in America" opens Sunday, June 24, and runs through Sept. 16.
