The Supreme Court could rule as soon as today on the fate of the country's new health care law. The sweeping health care overhaul was spearheaded by President Barack Obama and would expand coverage to millions of previously uninsured Americans. It has been fiercely controversial, with critics arguing it is unconstitutional because it requires almost all Americans to purchase insurance.
Around the country, employers, doctors, insurance companies, and local governments are all awaiting the court's decision. That includes two members of the state House.
Republican Jim Abeler chairs the House Health and Human Services Finance Committee. Representative Tom Huntley is the DFL lead on that committee. He is also on the White House working group on health care reform.
Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer spoke with the two legislators about how the Supreme Court ruling could affect the delivery of health care in Minnesota.
