There will be a joint House-Senate hearing today at the Minnesota State Capitol to discuss a flood relief package for northeastern Minnesota.
The money appropriated would help pay for infrastructure that was damaged by the flooding during the big storm on June 20.
Gov. Mark Dayton and legislative leaders hope to have a bill ready for a one-day special sesssion on Aug. 24.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Republican Sen. Joe Gimse, who represents Willmar. He will be the lead author of the legislation in the Senate.
