As I said in my last post, we at Ground Level got to wondering how the swelling sense of a need for self-reliance skills might play out in the realm of public safety.
We received a lot of responses about people and guns.
But we also heard from Ken Kalish.
Llamas, anyone?
Kalish farms near Park Rapids in northern Minnesota. He says thefts have stopped since he started using trained llamas to deter criminals.
"We've always helped out," Kalish says of farmers in general. "If someone has cancer you take in his crops. Now it's taken on a dimension of protection."
