Two key lawmakers say a special session to provide flood relief to northeastern and central Minnesota is on track for next week.
GOP Senate Majority Leader Dave Senjem and Republican Rep. Mary Liz Holberg delved into details of a $190 million relief package proposed by Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton's administration at a Capitol hearing Thursday.
Holberg says it's "very doable" to vote on a final flood relief bill on Aug. 24, the tentative date for the special session.
Senjem says the special session will focus narrowly on flood relief and the state aid will "stick to flood-related damages and wherever that number takes us."
