Former presidential candidate and U.S. Sen. George McGovern of South Dakota has moved into hospice care.
McGovern's family announced Monday that the 90-year-old McGovern has moved to the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
His daughter, Ann McGovern of Sioux Falls, says ``He's coming to the end of his life.'' She declined to elaborate, but noted that McGovern has had several health problems in the past year.
McGovern gave up his homes in Mitchell, S.D., and Florida in August and moved to Sioux Falls to spend more time near his family.
McGovern was treated for exhaustion in Sioux Falls a year ago after a lecture tour. Two months later he fell and hit his head, and he was admitted to a Florida hospital in April for tests.
