A Hennepin County judge ruled Friday afternoon that Prairie Seeds Academy will not be allowed to compete in the state soccer tournament.
The Minnesota State High School League had disqualified the boys' soccer team from the Class A state tournament competition. An investigation into a postgame fight at the section championship between the Brooklyn Park charter school and Totino Grace a week ago revealed that Prairie Seeds had played the entire season with an ineligible player. The player transferred to the school after playing for another school last year.
After a hearing this morning, Judge Jay Quam denied the school's request to be reinstated in the state soccer tournament, which starts at 5:30 p.m. today.
